Blackout leaves millions of Cubans in the dark | DW News
Cuba has suffered another partial blackout as dwindling fuel imports and an aging power grid strain the island's energy supply. Large parts of western Cuba — including Havana, which is usually spared the worst outages, were left without power, though authorities said electricity would be restored gradually. The disruption comes amid a wider economic downturn, with the Corona pandemic, tighter US sanctions limiting fuel purchases, and reduced support from key allies deepening the crisis. The outage followed two days of peak-hour shortages across the island.
