Syrian farming attempts recovery: Sector looks to repair shattered productivity

Farming once contributed nearly a quarter of Syria's Gross Domestic Product and employed 17 percent of its workforce.
But the civil war changed that.
According to the United Nations, the conflict caused 16 billion dollars in losses, in crop and livestock production.
