Critical shortages grip Myanmar after quake as hospitals overflow and services collapse

A moment of silence is observed in Mandalay for Myanmar’s earthquake victims, but survivors remain unaware due to the lack of internet and electricity. Basic services have collapsed, raising hygiene concerns as soaring temperatures worsen conditions. Hospitals are overwhelmed, with shortages of beds, staff, and essential supplies. Local donations provide limited aid, and international assistance is lacking. The military maintains a passive presence, offering little relief or support. Displaced residents seeking shelter are forced to move, leaving many homeless and without help. Their urgent need is simply a safe place to sleep.
