Indian Prime Minister Modi makes historic visit to Sri Lanka’s new government

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a landmark visit to Sri Lanka, becoming the first foreign leader to visit the country's newly-formed government. Modi was honored with Sri Lanka’s highest civilian award for his ongoing friendship and support for the Sri Lankan people. During the visit, the two nations also discussed significant bilateral issues, with Modi receiving a clear message from Sri Lankan officials about the ongoing problem of illegal fishing in the waters between the two countries.
