Myanmar earthquake survivors suffer as junta blocks aid to rebel-held areas

After a powerful earthquake struck Myanmar, little aid has reached the worst-hit areas controlled by resistance groups. The UN accuses the military government of deliberately blocking humanitarian access. Communications have been cut, leaving the extent of the damage largely unknown.

Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng reports from the epicentre in Sagaing, where he spoke to a rebel commander who described widespread devastation and urgent needs among survivors.
