Cambodia inaugurates naval base upgraded by China, drawing concern from US

Cambodia has officially inaugurated a naval base upgraded with Chinese funding, raising regional and international concerns. The base, located in Ream along the Gulf of Thailand, is seen by the US and neighboring countries as a potential outpost for Chinese military expansion in Southeast Asia. While Cambodia's government insists the facility will remain under national control and is meant to strengthen maritime defense, skepticism remains high.
