Starmer and Macron discuss response to Trump tariffs

Sir Keir Starmer has warned that "nothing should be off the table" as he discussed Donald Trump's sweeping trade tariffs with the French president Emmanuel Macron.

The two leaders agreed a trade war "was in no one's interests".

Every country is grappling with what the tariffs mean for their domestic industries and how it will affect their own economies.

The meeting came as UK car giant Jaguar Land Rover announced it was pausing shipments to the US as it worked on a new trade strategy.
