Israel was 'badly advised' on Labour MPs' deportation, Emily Thornberry says

A heated political controversy has erupted after two Labour MPs were denied entry to Israel and deported, accused of attempting to "spread anti-Israel hatred."

In an interview with Sky News, Emily Thornberry, chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, criticised Israel for being "badly advised" in its handling of the Labour MPs.

Thornberry also emphasised, "It's such bad news, Israel is meant to be an ally, and you ought to be able to tell your friends the truth."
