‘Fundamental to security’: Canada boosts Arctic forces to secure sovereignty • FRANCE 24

Canadian soldiers and Rangers are training in the snow, just below the Arctic Circle. The melting ice is opening up Canadian North and the Arctic and arousing the interest of neighbouring countries, including the United States and Russia. The Canadian government thus wants to step up its military and diplomatic presence there.
