Hong Kong turns to China after US tariffs tighten trade restrictions

Hong Kong's Chief Executive John Lee says the city will deepen its trade ties with mainland China after the US imposed fresh tariffs. The move comes as Washington no longer recognizes Hong Kong as a separate trading entity, citing concerns over a sweeping national security crackdown. These measures align the city more closely with Beijing, both politically and economically.
