Vatican schedules funeral of Pope Francis for Saturday

Pope Francis' funeral is set to take place in Vatican City and Rome on Saturday.
The decision was made during the first meeting of the Congregation of Cardinals since his death.
Saturday’s funeral is expected to draw global attention, including world leaders and thousands of Catholics.
It will follow tradition, held on the steps of St Peter’s Basilica, but with simplified rites he requested.
Francis also chose not to be buried in the Vatican grottoes but at Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.
There, he will lie in a plain tomb, inscribed only with his Latin name, Franciscus.
