New Jersey fire crews help avert 'major disaster'

New Jersey's Commissioner of Environmental Protection Shawn LaTourette told reporters that firefighting crews helped avert "a major disaster" in partially containing a raging wildfire.

The blaze could become the largest in New Jersey in about 20 years, said LaTourette. A fire in May 2007 in the same area consumed 17,000 acres.
