Farage 'tapping into voters' nostalgia for social democracy', political strategist says

UK voters went to the polls in local elections Thursday tipped to inflict losses on the country's two main parties and confirm the rise of hard-right populists of Reform UK, portending the splintering of a century-long political duopoly. Political strategist and former advisor to Tony Blair, John McTernan says that voters yearn 'for the return of social democracy' and that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage 'is tapping into that nostalgia'.
