In Australia, the ruling center-left Labor party of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has won the national election.
The tightly fought election campaign was dominated by concerns over the rising cost of living, a worsening housing crisis and global uncertainty. Albanese is the first prime minister to win consecutive parliamentary elections in more than 20 years.
