Holy month in Damascus: Syrians welcome Ramadan in hope after fall of Assad
Muslims are observing the first Ramadan in Syria since the fall of the Assad regime.
The holy month is traditionally a time of reflection, prayer and community.
But it carries a unique significance for Syrians this year.
While the nation is hopeful for a brighter future, many are struggling with severe hardship.
